According to Bankruptcy Data’s Quarterly & Annual Report on Business Bankruptcy Filings, there was a 26% increases in bankruptcies during the 2016 year in comparison to 2015. Energy -related businesses and service related industries seemed to struggle with five large energy businesses filing and the largest percentage of filings coming from the service industry. Predictions expect the trend to continue in 2017 with bankruptcies in varying industries.

After years of excessive and abusive nonconsensual tow billing, new regulations in Ontario, CA will require tow companies to start playing by the rules.
The law, which went into effect over the new year, states that tow truck operators must now disclose rates in advance, while also needing permission in order to tow and store vehicles. This is, of course, a response to an illegal practice that has gone on for far too long. The new Ontario law is a big step in a positive direction that will hopefully lead other regions to follow soon.
