Don't Get Charged For Extra People

Throughout the U.S. and the world, trucks haul products and goods all across the continents so people can get what they need and want. Unfortunately, not everything gets to the desired location; accidents happen. When an accident happens involving a truck, clean-up can be a huge ordeal. Emergency personnel, tow teams, product recovery crews, clean-up crews, even hazardous waste or chemical clean-up crews may be necessary.

Although it may be a stressful situation already, it is important to keep track of the people who are involved in the response to an accident to make sure everything is being handled properly. A good example of the usefulness of maintaining a record of people involved is instances of a nonconsensual  tow. In situations of a nonconsensual tow, invoices can be wrongly inflated by unjustly charging for extra people who were not used. If you feel that you have been unjustly charged  following an accident contact us via our contact us page.

Bankruptcy Bill Aimed at Helping Small Businesses

A new proposed bankruptcy bill focused on small businesses filing for Chapter 11 may be a bridge between what is best for debtors and their creditors. Plans for the bill would change the current procedure and would make it function more similarly to a Chapter 12 bankruptcy. Under the new bill, a standing trustee would oversee every case and owners would be able to maintain a stake in their company so long as certain conditions are met. Proponents of the bill hope that this will reform Chapter 11 bankruptcy in a way that would be beneficial businesses and stakeholders.

The United States Government shutdown has left many struggling to complete investigations required to run their businesses. The federally sponsored background check site, E-Verify, is not being actively managed and has left many businesses wondering what do. Many companies voluntarily use E-Verify when hiring employees but others are required. The FBI found that they were unable to receive information related to investigations they are completing because the systems are severely limited. Other prospective business owners have even been advised: "wait until the shutdown is over."

Innovation: The Key to Business Survival?

It is common knowledge that stagnancy in business can be a business's downfall, yet many large businesses have failed because they did not meet the changing world with new ideas. Bianca Miller Cole at Forbes explains that businesses such as Blockbuster and Toys R Us refused to adapt and it is likely the main cause of their demise. She believes, "if many of these businesses had understood or considered the importance of innovation or bringing new blood into the business or board they would still be here today."
Fortunately, not all innovative ideas have to be monumental changes. Small modifications can have large impacts and help better your business. One way you can update a standard business practice is to update the way you recover your debt. Simply calling multiple times a month may not be enough to retain the money you are owed. If you are looking to innovate your debt recovery contact Morgan, Cohen and Bach and see how our modern approach can help you.
