A man in Iowa, Anthony Gerhard Hoffman, is facing 2nd degree theft charges after allegedly writing a bad check in late November. The check was written for $3,900.67 and Hoffman allegedly knew he was issuing a bad check at that time. In Iowa any check over $1,000 is considered a felony offense.
